| | Model | GT-S | | | What things have gone wrong with the car? | First, you have to learn how to drive this car fast. This is not your typical Firebird that you just punch and go. This car need to finessed to achieve maximum performance. The 6-speed is outstanding once you understand the animal. | | | | |
| | | General comments? | The reason that I am probably going to sell my Celica as soon as I get right-side up on the loan is the failing not of the performance of the car, but rather the performance of Toyota. This car was billed and performs as the pride of Toyota. I have been to the dealership repeatedly(12 times) over the last year for all sorts of problems(resonance problem @3500 rpm=very annoying, splash guard falling off, door hinge breaking...). Never once was the solution easy. If it wasn't an excuse about why they couldn't fix the problem, they were trying to convince me that there was nothing wrong with the car. The most blatant example and what convinced me to sell me car was the "check engine" light. On occasion, the check engine light would come on (anybody having this problem?). I took it in the first time and was told that it was a factory defect and that Toyota was working on a solution. Bottom line is there is nothing wrong. Everytime that I took the car to the dealership they gave me a different reason why the light was coming on. I am tired of it. I expected the legendary Toyota craftmenship and quality assurance. Instead, I got the typical dealership runaround. I would not recommend this car until Toyota irons out some more of the wrinkles. Your money could probably be better spent somewhere else. | | | Previous car | Acura Integra - What I probably should have bought. |
