| | Model | Toyota Celica SX | | | What things have gone wrong with the car? | *Rear visibility can be improved (use your mirrors when parking) When the driver's side mirror is moved all the way to point to the ground, you can actually see the back rear wheel- so it helps parking the car.*In the night it is easy to forget to turn on your headlights-because the dash board is always "lit up". It is funny because I like to have my dash dim-as it gives me more visibility when looking out at night. A problem is when I turn on the lights at night my dash goes from "bright" to "dim". *Not made for city driving.*The back could be improved. If it had two circle back lights (just like the skyline) it would look even more fantastic. Come on Toyota do something about those back lights. | | | | |
| | | General comments? | I bought this car as a demonstration vehicle from the dealer for $35k AUSTRALIAN dollars. At the time I got a good deal value for money. In Australia there is the SX and ZR available. Both have the same engine (VVTL-i 140kW). The SX doesn't come with a sunroof, where as the ZR comes with a sunroof, bigger wheels and some other extras. SX has 15 inch alloys whereas the ZR has 16 inch alloys. But you can add a sunroof when you purchase. Value rating at the time I give it 5 stars. Overall rating I give it 4.5 stars. On the highway it performs fantastically, especially when you rev it high. In the city it drives like a little crappy car. But I guess, it is made for the highway-it is a sports car! Biggest strengths are its 1. Interior (THE BEST) 2. handling and 3. Very attractive when polished and washed. Biggest weakness:1. City driving. It is not made for it. | | | Previous car | I have driven bigger cars- 6 cylinders and 8 cylinders have something extra. That is "torque". The celica lacks torque. But comparing it in its range- it is a more comfortable ride than a honda integra type R. |
